One of the key expectations of a software architect is to be able to understand the political climate of the enterprise and be able to navigate the politics of the organization. This expectation confuses most software architects, who question why that is such a necessary skill. In this lesson Mark Richards explains why negotiation skills are so critical for a software architect to master, and demonstrates some of the key tips and techniques for negotiating with developers, architects, and business stakeholders.
